Help Rebuild Haiti A massive, 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti near the capital of Port-au-Prince on Tuesday, January 12th. The Developing World Connections volunteer community has begun a fundraising and rebuilding effort. Ways you can join the community effort: Donate to the Rebuild Haiti Fund. Join a DWC Volunteer Team to rebuild Haiti. Create a local campaign or response in your community. Scroll down for more information. Call For Donations: Your gift now will help in the rebuilding and recovery efforts – for children and families devastated by the earthquake and aftershocks in Haiti. Proceeds will be directed to our Host Partners in Haiti who will use the money to fund whatever initiatives are deemed a priority by the communities served. Our partners may utilize some of the funds for relief work, but the funds are primarily intended for long-term rebuilding initiatives (infrastructure, schools, centres, buildings, homes,etc) and not specifically for emergency response. You can also donate by visiting the Developing World Connections office in Kamloops, or by cheque or money order made out to Developing World Connections. All donations over $1 made on-line are eligible for a Charitable Tax Receipt. Donations mailed or delivered to Developing World Connections must be over $50 to be eligible for a Charitable Tax Receipt. Call for Volunteers: Teams will begin the clean-up efforts possibly as early as late March and continue in the years and months ahead. For now, we are making plans as the situation evolves. People can contribute to the efforts to rebuild Haiti by donating at Home Hardware Building Centre in Kamloops, Merritt, Prince Rupert, and Gananoque, Ontario. Every little bit helps. WHAT CAN I DO?
DONATE or VOLUNTEER! Work with locals to rebuild community and critical community infrastructure . No special skills are required. Participants will support Port au Prince and surrounding communities in Haiti. We invite people who cannot give the gift of time to donate to Haitian rebuilding projects through Developing World Connections. Visit the Donate page or contact us for more ways to be of service.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
For one week, the Program Cost is $1,600 and for two weeks it’s $2,000. This includes the cost of in-country food, transportation, accommodation, project costs and a substantial direct donation to the host partner and project. It’s 100% tax deductible.
