We just finished our dental mission at the Rise Above Community Center yesterday! We are happy to share that more people now have healthier teeth than last week. And next week, this team of dentist and hygienist from Canada will be making more difference in yet another place in Cebu.
The boxes of toothbrushes, hand soaps and toothpastes for the schools’ tooth brushing program are now here, and we have been really busy bringing these to the different schools here in Cebu. With the goal to lessen the number of children suffering from toothaches due to tooth decays, we are running this program which teaches both teacher and children how to do proper tooth brushing and how to make it a habit both in school and at home. With lesser toothaches, there would be less absence from school.
Our team of dentist and hygienists from Canada are all out in promoting dental care and eliminating cavities at Mt. Olives Academy at Consolacion, Cebu City.
One toothbrush for each student on the program, toothpaste and hand soap enough for a whole year was distributed.
What a blessing it is to work together with Developing World Connection, who are our partners in Canada, as they keep on sending teams to Cebu to help, this time with oral health promotion. It fit perfectly with the time of the year and distributing the oral kit of toothbrushes, toothpaste and hand soap to 14 different schools with about 25,000 kids who are on the program. Here the team is at Mt. Olives Christian Academy in Consolacion, Cebu, where the team of hygienists and dentists. Thank you for being here and the wonderful help you have given to hundreds of students.
The hygienist team went from classroom to classroom giving instruction on oral health and correct tooth brushing.
