Growing confidence, income & opportunity
Lalpur, Nepal | 2025
A group of 26 determined women has spent years rebuilding after devastating floods. With training and shared savings groups, they’ve launched businesses, kept their daughters in school, and created a vision for their community’s future. Now, a new flood-resilient Women’s Centre is rising for them. This is a safe place where they can learn, meet, and lead. The building is equipped with hand-washing facilities, toilets and a steel roof and is expected to be completed by the second week of January, 2026.
Gadhawa, Nepal | 2024
In Gadhawa, the Mirmire Mothers’ Group is proving what happens when women gain access to knowledge, resources, and a place to grow. 80 women have a new fully furnished community building and a new latrine. This has become a hub for women’s empowerment, financial independence, and community growth. Deepa, pictured above, used her training to grow her businesses. A small loan helped to expand her grocery shop. She has since been elected to a leadership role and is considered a role model in her community.

A new Women’s Centre in Lalpur, Nepal is now well underway, rising steadily with walls, roofing, and interior structures taking shape. What makes these projects especially powerful is that the women who will benefit from the Centre are also helping to build them. They mix concrete, carry materials, and work alongside local builders and DWC volunteers. Their involvement reflects the spirit of Every Girl. These women are not passive recipients; they are active leaders, investing their time, energy and skills to create a space that will support their growth for generations. Their commitment is shaping not just a building, but a stronger, more resilient future for their entire community.
